Everything went off without a hitch today from getting up to our arrival in Hefei at our hotel. It has just been a great day. We even got to eat a snack at the Jackie Chan Cafe. Elijah absolutely loved that. Our room... well... the AC isn't working, the frig isn't working and the blow dryer isn't working. So lots to get fixed tomorrow. But the air outside is nice and cool right now so we are not dying of heat. We had a nice dinner so are not in need of the fridge... and tomorrow I will look like I am Bozo the clowns sister with my hair in a big frizz-do due to lack of a working blow dryer. Of course I will look strange to Maggie no matter what my hair looks like.
My room is just a few doors down from the other family that's here. They are very nice. You know how it is when you meet new people. You just never know if they are going to be nice or picky or whiny or what. They are none of these things and I am looking forward to sharing such a great experience with them. We went to dinner together tonight and then shopped for some water and juices for the kids. I brought them back to my room to see what it looks like to over do. I explained to them that I was afraid I wouldn't have a dime for shopping so brought everything I thought I would need for Maggie with me. LOL Now that I am looking at it, I told them I think I am going to over whelm her. I'd put some of it away but I really want to just leave it as it is. I had Elijah rearrange it for me in a different area of the room and then took some pictures to share.
The best thing about today for Elijah was that he finally go to go swimming. He was so happy. And I am just beside myself right now with happiness for what is about to occur in just 10 short hours. I am off to bed to try to get past these silly butterflies and on to the main event. We are to leave at 8:30am to go to the bank and then head over to the civil affairs office. Once we have Maggie and leave there we are to go shopping at a big store and then bring her back to the room to adjust and get to know each other. Ding has been awesome so far. This is our first ever male adoption guide in China. So far so good.
Well, have a great Mother's Day. I look forward to posting new pics of our daughter on her Gotcha Day. Kathie is supposed to show me at some point how to post pictures to my blogspot blog so that I can start posting some there. :o)*
