Gotcha Day!!!! 5-10-10

And what a wonderful day it has been. I was worried as when they brought her in she was crying which made me cry to know she was so sad. But she quickly got over it as I came to her and the lady put her in my arms. She liked my necklace with all the toys on it. So that worked well as a distractor. Then when it came time for the director to leave she cried and went between letting me comfort her and arching her back in protest back to letting me comfort her. She quickly calmed back down and as I suspected took to the whole idea of me being Mama. Ding told her for me that her American name is Maggie and she has accepted the name ever since. She has been nothing but happy. I can tell that we are going to eventually hit a wall with her but for now she is doing really well. She hasn't taken her princess dress off since she set eyes on it and put it on over her clothing. She looks very beautiful. Being with her I can see the scarring around her eyes where they did surgery. I am not sure if she had infection or what. I can't wait to get her home and to our eye doctor to see what he thinks.

Right now she is playing quietly with all her toys and exploring what they all are. She found her new underwear and changed quickly into a pair.

I am over the moon and so is Elijah. He taught her how to do a high five and she is constantly calling for her "guh guh." Here are lots of pics, thanks to Elijah and his photographic skills, from beginning to our arrival back at the room. :o)
