This post is directed at "A Place Called Simplicity" and their Crazy Love movement. Our need is explained here a dozen times over I think. We started this adoption with nothing but love for a 5-year-old little girl who no one else seemed to want. She had been passed over many times. I can only guess that it was the words "Mentally Retarded" that scared them away because she is absolutely adorable in appearance and I can't imagine that her eye condition that was surgically corrected would have bothered them.
God has blessed us over and over during this journey to the final addition to our family. Adoption number 8, Daughter number 7, Blessing number 12. She will round us out and complete us. We are now standing here with travel approval in hand and still needing $5300. Actually let me correct two things... We are only needing $4810 out of the 18 or 19k we started out needing. This has been nothing short of a wondrous miracle of God's design. But now we find ourselves at the time to travel and lacking the orphanage donation.
We are praying God will find a way for this to all come together. We have let our friends and family know of our need and you can see on this website where they are helping. We hope you will consider helping too.
Blessings Abound!! :o)*
To those who read my blog, whether in need or wanting to help others, please go to http://aplacecalledsimplicity.blogspot.com/ to learn more about Crazy Love. It's an awesome idea that I think will quickly come to fruition. :o)*
Hi, Found your blog on Linny's list. Love the name Maggie! Can you post the answers to the questions that Linny asked--church involvement, tithing, etc. We're praying about helping others adopt as God has been so faithful to us in our 2 adoptions. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe are also a adopting a 5 year old... he is a boy with Down Syndrome from Hong Kong.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you family.
Bobbie, I loved the story of Crazy Love. We benefit from a lot of that in our lives! I think of our Stephanie and what a joy and light she is. So nice. Not ours, but now ours, by her own choice and admission. She's 21 now and a big kid, too old to be adopted, but finally our kid and a part of a loving family! God has plans around the obstacles and I've left the working through of them to Him. Only He can make a way.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, we have just started, over the last three month, attending The Church of God in Hernando, Fl. It has a great children's program (AGAPE). We have been searching for a church since we moved to this area and think we have finally found one. We tithe 5% of our income each month as that is how my husband is paid. Believe me he gives it back every time in one way or another as we are very tight on funds and that makes us really feel it each month, going and when he blesses us back with it. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. :o)*
