Today is a day for great rejoicing in our family. Today we have every dime we need to travel to get our Maggie. Our LCC (lovingchinaschildren) family put out the alert Friday. Today, Monday, we have every dime we need plus a little bit that will keep us from having to borrow the last little bit. I am overwhelmed with emotion as I type this. After going through what we did with out last adoption, this is absolute heaven. We have a whole week and a half pre-adoption to enjoy the approach of our adoption trip and the excitement of getting to meet our daughter two week from today. No stress!! Ok... other than the fun stress of packing and unpacking and repacking and working to decrease the amount of stuff we are taking. :o)
You know... I think this may be somewhat of what it would feel like to find out you have the winning lottery ticket. I am just in disbelief on one hand that it has happened, but totally in tears on the other because it has. All my kids are home now and they, at the announcement, were all jumping up and down and cheering. Yes, even they realize what a wonderful miracle this is. My daughter, Katie, said, "God wants you to get Maggie, Mom." AMEN!!!
Thanks to all of you who have made this money come together for us. Not just those that are part of the LCC group who brought the last of it together for us, but all of you who have prayed, donated, sent encouraging emails and messages and called. I don't think there are any of you out there that don't know how much $5300. is when you need it and don't have it. And we now have it, thanks to your help.
Let me tell you a little bit about my day today. I got up this morning and found my daughter, Ajia, was still running fever. No other symptoms, just fever. I kept her home and sent the others off to school on the bus. We took off and went to my doctor appointment where I found I had lost two more pounds so that was a positive appointment. :o) I also go my Rx for antibiotics just in case I get sick on the trip. From there we went to the thrift store where, and I hope I don't gross too many people out, I bought a pair of shoes for my trip. Right now I can't afford to waste money on a pair of new shoes that I intend to throw away during the trip. I found a pair right away and in new condition. Very successful morning so far. Off to the post office to mail out three CD orders. And then I realized I was missing a large chunk of filling out of my back tooth. Not special. My great morning went down hill as I realized three things. One, my outing planned for Tuesday was out the window. No lunch. No special times. Two, I would have to go see the dentist because, although it was not painful now... I knew it was only a matter of time (6 hours to be exact) before it was. And three... the Dentist isn't free! :o( So I was a lot less than happy when I got home, new Rx in hand, good news to tell my husband about the weight loss... and bad news to share about the tooth. So when I opened up my email from Donna Bost with Kingdom Kids it took me a couple of seconds to recognize that she was telling me that all the money we were trying to raise was in. Now don't get me wrong... my dental issue didn't disappear... but it was suddenly on a back burner and didn't seem like as big an issue as I floated on top of God's glory, praising his name, crying, and soaking in that the stress of fund raising is over. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this would come together so quickly. And there are some specific people I need to thank but I only know their names and nothing more other than that they are most likely connected to LCC.
If you are someone who donated or someone who prayed for our need I just want to say thank you for being part of all this coming together. I am praying God blesses all of you three times as much as you have blessed us. I said in an email to my LCC family earlier today that trying to express how thankful I am is like trying to explain what love is. There just aren't any words appropriate to fully express my gratitude. I am praising God for prayers answered and thanking him for all the wonderful people he brought forward to help us. Our God is an awesome God!! :o)*
Praise God!
