40 Blessings Arrived Today

The family that traveled on the homeland trip to Hefei SWI mailed me all the pictures they took of my daughter while they were there. Forty in all. The few in the post below are from that visit and included in that forty. It is so wonderful. They had told me that they had had the children perform for them and in the pictures there are quite a few showing them with pom-poms doing their dance. It was just so awesome to see and this wonderful family... I mean... I expected three or four pictures from them as they were there for their own reason and I thought taking pictures of my daughter would just be some side thing. As it turned out my daughter was in the kindergarten where they were taken to see the children. Hence how they got all the wonderful information about her that they did. The pictures they sent they identified the orphanage director (or possibly the 2nd director) in them and the teacher. It was just really neat to see them all.

In other news... there was an earthquake in Haiti. Hundreds of children have been newly orphaned and some orphanages were destroyed. The death toll is over 50,000. Thankfully, the children that were in the process of being adopted are being allowed to come over and they are looking at doing a refugee type thing down in the Miami area to bring more of the orphans and newly orphaned over here. There are telethons and everyone is putting out the word that donations are needed to help this country. It is all so sad. And when I look at the letter I have been putting together to send out to ask for donations to help us bring our daughter home I find myself feeling embarrassed and thinking how stupid it would look in light of what has and is happening in Haiti for me to send it out to anyone. If we don't get donations we will have to leave our daughter where she is for an indefinite time until we can find a way to pull it all together. But how can we even ask? How selfish would that be? I am in such a quandary over it. I just don't feel it is right to ask for help in light of what is going on in Haiti.

Any thoughts from those who read?
