Record time...

The family who adopted the little girl on the left was nice enough to share this photo with me. I love the whole peace sign thing!! It's so retro!!

I have never ever had the Secretary of State be as quick returning authenticated documents as it was this time. Let me tell you... I mailed, via FedEx, the packet out on Monday late afternoon. It arrived on Tuesday. On Tuesday I mailed out, via priority mail, an extra document I learned I needed. On Thursday I got all the documents back. The tracking showed that the Sec. Of State got my documents Tuesday at 3pm and sent them back out to me at 9pm that same day. I did two day on the FedEx return. The priority package got there Wednesday and was sent back out in the mail Wednesday. Again, both packages arrived here on Thursday. I was sure when I saw the envelop that something was wrong with it and that is why it had gotten back so quickly. You can imagine my excitement when I opened both and found the authentication documents there.

Today, Friday, October 30th (Happy 13th Birthday to my Julia) I put it all back out via FedEx to go to Cindy Marut from MyChinaDocs.com (My favorite courier) to have them authenticated by the Chinese Consulate. I don't think the turn around will be as amazing. Why? Well, when I went and got the money orders it was when I thought it was 12 documents. But, remember, I added one. So I have sent it all off and the Chinese Consulate money order is $20. short. I have written Cindy to see how I can correct this the quickest. Hey... something had to happen... it was all going too smoothly don't you think?? LOL

But I am happy because the next step is sending it all on to the agency and them sending it on to China giving me my DTC (Dossier to China) date and shortly after that, my LID (Log in date). Once you get those it is count down for LOA and, in my case, since I am still under the old rules, then right to TA wait.

For Mathew it took two months for the LOA and another 3-4 weeks for the TA. I don't know that things are still working that quickly. What I do know is I need to get crazy applying for grants and trying to find work. I just got myself set up to work at home and incorporated. I haven't started yet as I don't have a working VOIP (head phones with microphone) and I think it may be my computer VOIP connection that has a problem. But I did just get an offer I like that doesn't require VOIP so I am likely going to try to go after that one. :o)

I love that this is all moving forward. Now I just have to find out about getting Ajia's passport. Can I get her a passport without a certificate of citizenship when only I traveled??? :o)*
