This is the fastest we have ever gotten PA. It's hard to believe. I had such an awful day starting out with our nice big van being hit by the neighbors truck when he suddenly realized he'd forgotten something at home and backed up without looking and slammed right into it to my dismay. He was in the middle of the road and I was in my lane so when he decided to just use that drivers side mirror to watch with so he wouldn't hit his mail box he completely missed the Ford Econoline 350 van behind him. I feel bad for him. It was his birthday today, he got a ticket and will have to pay the deductible to his insurance company when they fix my van. He didn't want to be in that accident. And the poor guy works for Wal-Mart who I hear treats their employees very poorly.
From the accident I went to the Ford place as I couldn't turn right with the van or the bumper, where all the damage was sustained, and wheel would hit and make an awful sound. The people at the ford dealer pulled off the lower plastic bumper from the shinny silver bumper and then pulled the silver bumper out and away from the tire. It actually doesn't look that bad but it was without blemish before this happened.
Now as soon as I had my accident today I began trying to reach my MIL who I was to meet at 11:45am for a 12:10pm movie called District 9. I was in no mood to go to any movie and really just wanted to go home and go back to bed. The stress was thankfully the only injury but still was taking it's toll via me feeling very exhausted. :o) But I never got ahold of my MIL. So I left a half dozen messages and was on my way home from the car place at 11:35am when she called me. She was at the theater, had already bought her ticket and wanted to know where I was. She had left her cell phone at home. I told her she needed to make sure she always had her cell phone as someone could get in an accident and really need to reach her. Now I have one of those MIL that can be a real pill. I knew if I told her on the phone that I wasn't going to make it she would have been ticked off and gotten that low flat monotone voice and told me it was ok and that she understood. And then I wouldn't have heard from her for a month or more and she would avoid my calls. So as much as I just wanted to go crawl back into bed I, instead, drove the long drive over to the movie theater getting inside at 12:25, yet still making it before the movie actually started. It was a good movie for the most part. One of those that ends wreaking of a sequel. Yuck!!
By the time I got out of there and headed home it was almost 3pm. I hit the Sweetbay and pick up some .99/# split chicken breast to cook for dinner then rushed home to get it in the oven. It's football practice tonight so I knew I'd get home about 3:30, get dinner going and BAM! it would be 4pm and all seven kids would be home and needing me to check their bags which I did while dealing with dinner. I put my dinner in a to go box and made one for my grown daughter to take to practice.
Two hours in the Florida heat. We got to practice 5 minutes late. I sat listening to my grown daughter, who is just out of a not so great relationship talk about how she is thinking about getting back with the guy who has three kids, doesn't work and has cost her her car and her discounted rental and left her over a grand in debt. She, on the other hand, works two jobs, is on home dialysis (the kidney I gave her is dying after 13 years) and has a 12yo son of her own that is high maintenance and on the same football team my son is on. I arrived home about 8:15pm to find this still up as I had hoped to make this post before leaving for practice. LOL Yeah... I thought I'd squeeze it in there somewhere. LOL
So as overjoyed as I am to have gotten our PA today, and I really am so happy to have it, I am off to bed, ready to collapse. I wonder how many people take off and finish their day after a car accident. Probably lots... but for tonight... all I can do is quote one of my favorite movies to say where my head is at as far as adoption, crashed vehicles, fundraising, contracts and so on... "I won't think about that now. I'll think about that tomorrow."
Goodnight :o)*
PS I'll post Miss Maggie's pics tomorrow :o)*
